Project Gender is an innovation and social change agency creating positive impact through insights research, breakthrough campaigns and real-world solutions. Founded by Tania Domett, Angela Meyer and Erin Jackson, Project Gender’s mission is to ‘Bridge the gap between untapped market potential and ground-breaking solutions, by focusing on the most influential demographic globally. Women.’ They achieve this by taking an intersectional feminist approach, working in collaboration with all women, wāhine, trans, intersex and non-binary people.
Working across government, corporate and philanthropic sectors, Project Gender’s research and innovation spans all areas of gender-related needs and challenges including women’s health, sexual safety, trade careers and financial wellbeing. Their insights and advocacy have been influential in shaping public policy on gender issues.
Part demand, part manifesto, Project Gender’s contribution to 1001 Spheres project is an unequivocal and urgent call to action. NOW!
With broad expertise on gender and equity, Project Gender is often asked by entities keen to improve their diversity and inclusion statistics, to run workshops or provide training or mentoring for women. But it’s not the women who need to change, Project Gender is telling us in no uncertain terms ‘we are perfect as we are’. Gender equality will not be achieved by helping women fit better into a patriarchal system. It is the systemic inequalities and those it serves that need to change. And the time for that change is now.
