Art Day for Gender Equality is back!  And we have an amazing line-up of workshops, music, performance poetry and a lively panel discussion.

Art Day 2026 is a full-day programme running from 9am to 6pm.

The day starts with PŪNGAO, a mindful movement and breath workshop by renowned choreographer Tiaki Kerei. Followed by creative writing with award-winning screenwriter and writing coach, Kathryn Burnett.

Pumping up the energy and the volume will be DJ and powerhouse vocalist Sandy Mill. Performance poet Carrie Rudzinsky is returning to host the Poetry Open Mic featuring special guests and emerging new poets. Plus more to be announced.

Art Day for Gender Equality is a free community event held in Monte Cecilia Park at the site of 1001 Spheres sculpture. Everyone is welcome!
